Covata Awarded Paid POC with three UK Government Agencies

Sydney, Australia and London, UK – October 31, 2016 – Covata Limited (ASX: CVT), a global leader in data-centric security solutions for enterprise and government, has been selected to participate in a paid Proof of Concept (POC) sponsored by the UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). Covata’s Safe Share is being considered alongside a secure email solution.

• Agencies included are the CPS, Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customers (HMRC) service and the National Crime Authority (NCA)

• The POC will run for circa 30 days beginning early November

• CPS are seeking a solution to broker sensitive digital information pertinent to the prosecution process to/from HMRC, NCA and legal firms

• The POC scope requires a SaaS solution that delivers end-to-end encryption, the ability to securely share information with strict access controls, and a complete audit trail

• A successful outcome in December will open Safe Share licensing negotiations (G-Cloud 8 pricing) to many thousands of government employees of CPS, HMRC and NCA

CPS is the principal public prosecuting body for conducting criminal prosecutions in England and Wales. Its use of Safe Share would ensure the integrity of digital files through the unique ‘one-keyone-file hash’. This is crucial to the prosecution process in mitigating the question of integrity; ‘has it been altered’, by defence attorney’s.

Covata CEO Mr Trent Telford said of the early stage win; “ After almost six months of engagement, Covata is proud to have been selected to participate in this POC. Covata is honoured to be chosen by an agency with the calibre of CPS to test this sensitive business need, which will be completed before the end of the calendar year.

“This project links directly to the ‘whole of government’ UK strategy outlined in the June half year update. Beyond CPS licensing, there is the opportunity to pursue 42 police regions across the UK that capture and share evidence with CPS; and this is underway . A successful outcome with CPS would, in my opinion, bear well for broader take-up of Safe Share across UK government in 2017. This market represents tens of millions of dollars in potential annual revenue for Covata.”
