ASX ANNOUNCEMENT

The listed entertainment, hospitality and leisure operator Amalgamated Holdings Limited (“AHD”) today announced the acquisition of the Beverly Hills and Cronulla cinema complexes for the total purchase price of $9.8 million. The acquisition relates to the cinema operations only and does not include the freehold land and buildings.

Both cinemas comprise six screens and are located within South-western and Southern Sydney at 2-6 Cronulla Street, Cronulla and 447-443 King Georges Road, Beverly Hills. The acquisition builds on AHD’s Australian cinema circuit which currently totals 53 cinemas and operates under the brand names of Greater Union, Birch Carroll & Coyle and the recently launched Event Cinemas.

In announcing the acquisition, the Managing Director of Amalgamated Holdings, Mr David Seargeant commented: "the acquisition of the Cronulla and Beverly Hills cinemas is important in adding to our presence in the Southern Sydney market and in bringing to these locations the benefits of our Company’s plans for future digitisation. The vendor is D&G Cinemas Pty Ltd, associated with the Tsagias family, and they will retain ownership of the freehold buildings with Amalgamated entering into a long term lease".
