ASX ANNOUNCEMENT

The listed entertainment, hospitality and leisure operator Amalgamated Holdings Limited (“AHL”) today announced the appointment of Peter Coates as an independent non-executive director.

Mr Coates, 63, has more than 40 years international business experience, primarily within the commodities industries. Mr Coates, previously chairman of Xstrata Australia Pty Limited, is currently deputy chairman and chairman elect of Santos Limited, chairman of Minara Resources Limited and director of Downer EDI Limited.

Mr Coates received the Officer of the Order of Australia award in June 2009.

AHL Chairman, Mr Alan Rydge commented: “It is very pleasing to appoint a director with such extensive domestic and international business experience. Peter is a valuable addition to the AHL Board and will strengthen the level of experience available to the Company”.
