Pursuant to § 2 Austrian Disclosure Regulation 2002, EVN AG announces that
the 79th Annual General Meeting of EVN AG held on January 17, 2008 approved
the following resolution:

The Annual General Meeting formally gives its authorisation to the
Executive Board to buy back EVN’s own non-par value bearer shares amounting
to a maximum of 10% of the equity capital of EVN AG within a period of 18
months as of the day on which this resolution was passed. The minimum value
to be paid for the shares which will be acquired shall correspond to the
share price on the trading day preceding the day on which the Executive
Board makes use of its share buyback authorisation less 5%, whereas the
maximum value to be paid for the shares shall correspond to the share price
on the trading day preceding the day on which the Executive Board makes use
of its share buyback authorisation plus an additional 5%.

Furthermore, the Executive Board is authorised to call in all shares which
have been acquired within the context of the share buy-back programme
without any further resolutions required by the Annual General Meeting.
