Europris delivers significant growth in the fourth quarter
Fredrikstad, 17 February 2017 (OSE:EPR):
Total revenues for the fourth quarter 2016 were NOK 1,604 million, up 13.8 per
cent from NOK 1,409 million in the equivalent period in 2015. Adjusted net
profit rose by 11.9 per cent to NOK 209 million (NOK 187 million).
Europris expanded in line with its long term growth ambition during the year,
increasing group revenue by 9.8 per cent vs. last year to NOK 5,085 million, on
the back of eleven new store openings and a solid like-for-like performance of
4.1 per cent.
Adjusted net profit increased by 19.6 per cent to NOK 414 million, resulting in
Adjusted EPS of NOK 2.48, up from NOK 2.07 last year.
- Once again, I am proud to say that we delivered a strong result in the fourth
quarter, our most important selling period of the year. A huge effort by our
team of dedicated employees resulted in double-digit growth in group revenue vs.
last year. This was on top of a record-breaking performance in the fourth
quarter of 2015.
- We outperformed the market both on a total and like-for-like basis in all
three months of the fourth quarter, manifesting our position as the "Christmas
store of Norway" in 2016 too, says CEO Pål Wibe.
The Board of Directors of Europris ASA (the "Board") has decided to propose to
the Annual General Meeting an ordinary dividend for 2016 of NOK 1.50 per share.
In addition, to celebrate the company's 25th year anniversary in 2017, the Board
proposes to pay an extraordinary anniversary dividend of NOK 0.50 per share. In
total, the proposed dividend is NOK 2.00 per share.
