Europris adds eight franchise stores to its network portfolio in the first quarter
Fredrikstad, 17 March 2017: Europris ASA (OSE: EPR) is pleased to inform about
next step on its successful growth path as the company today announces it has
agreed to take over five franchise stores. The franchise take overs will
supplement a healthy pipeline of new stores, of which 14 are confirmed for 2017.
Europris will with effect from the beginning of March 2017 take over the
franchise stores Åsen, Ålgård, Ganddal, Bogafjell and Klepp.
Europris expects a positive effect on both revenue and profit longer term. A one
-off cost on gross profit of approximately NOK 6 million is expected to be
incurred in the quarter.
In addition, as part of normal course of business, Europris took over three
franchise stores at the beginning of the year (Ørsta, Bjugn and Ulsteinvik). At
the beginning of 2016, the company took over two franchise stores.
The above takeovers will bring the total number of owned stores to 194 at the
end of March (169). The corresponding number of franchise stores will be 46
(61).
Europris will continue its successful expansion within discount variety retail,
both through directly operated stores and franchise stores.
