Europris - Second quarter and first half 2015 results

[Fredrikstad, 14. August 2015]: Europris (OSE: EPR) continued to deliver on its

ambitious growth strategy in the second quarter, and the chain outperformed the

market with a like-for-like sales growth of 1.9% compared to the market of 0.7%.

Year-to-date the like-for-like sales growth is 6.2%, well above the market of

2.1%.

Total revenues for the second quarter 2015 amounted to NOK 1,100 million, up 4.4

percent from NOK 1,053 million in the second quarter 2014. EBITDA grew by 14.5

percent to NOK 168 million, corresponding to an EBITDA margin of 15.3 percent

(excluding IPO cost). EBITDA for second quarter 2014 was NOK 147 million,

corresponding to an EBITDA margin of 13.9 percent.

"We are very pleased to present a strong like-for-like sales growth well ahead

of the market growth both in the second quarter and the first half of 2015. I am

particularly pleased with the quarterly and year-to-date results, which

excluding the one-off IPO cost show a solid 15.3 and 11.3 per cent EBITDA

-margin, respectively. Thanks to our dedicated and enthusiastic group of

employees, we have been able to improve operations and continue the growth we

have experienced over the last 23 years", says CEO Paal Wibe in Europris.

The growth in the second quarter is driven by improved seasonal implementation

throughout the value chain, an extensive store modernisation programme and

opening of two new stores in the chain, bringing the number of stores in the

chain to 225. Revenue growth was influenced by timing of Easter, with peak sales

days of Easter being in March this year and April in 2014.

Total revenues for first half 2015 increased by 9.4 percent to NOK 2,086

million, compared to NOK 1,907 million in the first half 2014. EBITDA increased

by 30.6 percent to 236 million (excluding IPO cost), compared to NOK 180 million

and EBITDA margin of 11.3 percent in the first half in 2014.
