New Company Secretary starts at ECT

Wednesday, 4 August 2009: Environmental Clean Technologies Limited (ASX: ESI) wishes to advise that John Osborne has commenced in the role of Company Secretary.

Mr Osborne is an experienced Company Secretary with extensive finance and corporate development acumen and is a strong replacement for Jan McPherson who completes her current commitments to the company today.

With a CV including a Bachelor of Applied Science from Monash, Fellowship Diploma - Management from RMIT, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance, Mr Osborne has worked in high-level strategic positions at some of the country's most well-known companies.

His career started at Monsanto Australia where he worked in Sales and Marketing, then Corporate Planning before being appointed Assistant Treasurer. From the early 1980s until mid 1990s, Mr Osborne was Corporate Treasurer at Ashton Mining and later employed by Arthur Andersen Consulting as Senior Manager-Strategic Services. In 1995, he commenced at Australia China Malt as General Manager and within four years was Chairman of the company.

ECT Chairman Dave Woodall said Mr Osborne possessed a wealth of practical and senior level financial, administrative and commercial experience across a broad range of industries.

"John's senior corporate financial experience, coupled with his recent and current Company Secretary roles at ASX listed companies will assist in raising the performance of ECT," Mr Woodall said.

Mr Osborne also brings a great deal of expertise in working with multi national companies, gained from years working in finance for Monsanto Australia Limited, and establishing a corporate treasury operation while working as Treasurer of Ashton Mining.

"We are extremely pleased to have secured a Company Secretary of John’s calibre and look forward to working with him in this critical role."

Mr Osborne has been employed on a part-time basis with responsibility for all Company Secretary duties including maintaining statutory records and registers, liaising with the ECT Board and complying with all ASIC and ASX requirements under corporate governance rules.

Mr Woodall also paid tribute to Jan McPherson for her work over the past 2 years in the capacity of Company Secretary.

"She has stuck by this company through some tough times and leaves behind what is now a more stable business, following the successful Share Purchase Plan, in which she played an integral role," he said.
