CALGARY, ALBERTA, 09 April 2015 - Iona Energy Inc. ("Iona" or the "Company") (TSX V: INA), a Canadian independent oil and gas company with assets in the UK North Sea announces changes to the Company's Board of Directors.

On 27 March 2015 bondholders approved a series of amendments to the Company's bond agreement. Pursuant to specific amendments regarding the number of Board Directors and appointment of a new independent director, Bill McCall has been appointed to the Board of Iona as an independent director and Richard Ames and Roger Laing have resigned as Directors. The Board changes will take place with immediate effect.

Bill McCall is currently a Principal of McCall & Partners, a strategic corporate finance advisory business and has extensive experience as an Independent Director. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Banker Institute, a Chartered Banker, and Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
