A NOTE FROM THE MANAGING DIRECTOR

Dear Shareholder,

Since the last newsletter in October, we have made terrific progress – as outlined back then we took the bold initiative of utilising the worlds most powerful, helicopter mounted geophysical detection tool called HeliTEM, which measures the conductivity of the underlying rocks. Although this is only part of a much bigger strategy, so far it has resulted in two new discoveries which we have called Monitor and Goanna (figure 1). The exploration ramifications are exciting as these discoveries represent an entirely new style of mineralisation that was largely blind to previous exploration techniques – thus opening up the entire Tennant Creek Mineral Field to further such discoveries.

Tennant Creek deposits overall are 2-4% copper and 15-20g/t gold, so our results to date are certainly encouraging.

As in previous years, Emmerson has committed to another aggressive exploration program which will see us spend in excess of $7m this year within our 100% owned blocks. Our aim is to establish a resource at both projects by year end, and also test the potential for gold beneath the historic Gecko copper mine. Our JV partner, Ivanhoe Australia has committed to spending around $3m (pending board approval) on drill testing targets within the IVA/ERM JV areas. Once IVA reach their earn in expenditure of $18m, they have a 51% interest in the JV tenements. However an additional $10m sole fund expenditure over 5 years is required to maintain that interest, and if not met, control reverts to Emmerson. We aim to drill ~7,000m of both Reverse Circulation (RC) and diamond drill holes, spread across the ERM sole fund areas and also out into the regional greenfields targets.

Equally exciting is the grade of mineralisation thus far intercepted – whilst it is far too early to ascertain what the bulk grade or size of these discoveries will ultimately be, the early drilling is very positive, with some of the latest drill intercepts at Monitor returning 12m at 16.9g/t gold and 2.00% copper, with a high grade core of 4m at 37.4g/t gold and further down the drill hole, 3m at 17.4g/t gold and 4.33% copper (from drill hole GODD008). Similar styles of mineralisation have now been seen at Goanna with 15m at 8.13g/t gold, 1.73g/t silver and 4.19% copper and within this, a high grade core of 3m at 34.1g/t gold, 4.18g/t silver and 11.1% copper (from drill hole GRC 1367). The latest results from Goanna (ASX January 19, 2012) announced a very thick copper intersection in drill hole GRC 1373 of 26m at 4.75% copper (from 338m), including 18m at 6.34% or 8m at 9.32% copper (from 339m) and 3m at 11.9% copper (from 342m).

On the people front we welcome some new very high calibre staff and will leave it up to them to introduce themselves over the coming shareholder letters, so stay tuned for what we believe will be a very exciting and pivotal year for Emmerson Resources.

With warm regards, Rob Bills

THE ROAD AHEAD

TEAM MEMBER PROFILE

  • Diamond Drilling has re-commenced at our 100% ERM owned Goanna and Monitor projects – initially this program is aimed at extending early RC drilling to obtain some much needed additional geological information.

Liezl Cuison

Liezl joined Emmerson March 2012. Liezl is an economic geologist with 14 years experience in delivering technical excellence to mineral exploration programs for a variety of project stages and mineral commodities.

  • Already the results from this drilling are having a profound impact on our interpretation of the geometry of both projects. To the extent that we have now optimised the drill orientation to better intersect the true width of the mineralisation and test for gold beneath the copper.

  • The first diamond hole at Goanna (GODD0015), utilising this new understanding and specifically targeting the copper mineralisation and gold within the Southern Shear Zone is now underway.

Liezl has experience in copper and gold exploration/project generation in porphyry and epithermal systems. Liezl was one of the team members in the discovery of the Victoria Gold Deposit in the Mankayan Mineral District, northern Luzon Philippines.

  • The second rig is arriving in late April and will commence drilling on a project called Horner. This is a regional greenfields target (i.e. has seen no previous exploration or drilling) that lies within the highly prospective Gecko corridor and like both Goanna and Monitor, has been generated by the earlier HeliTEM survey (figure 3).

Liezl obtained her PhD in Economic Geology from the University of Tasmania - Australian Research Council - Centre of Excellence in Ore Deposit Research (CODES).

Before joining Emmerson, Liezl worked in technical project evaluation and regional exploration for gold, porphyry copper and volcanic hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) in the Sorell Peninsula in western Tasmania. Liezl is a Member of the Society of Economic Geologist (SEG), Economic Geology Research Unit (EGRU) and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).

  • We aim to keep both rigs on a campaign basis throughout the year, deployed on establishing a resource at Monitor & Goanna and also testing targets further afield within the JV areas.
