Announcement
Emmerson Resources Limited (ASX : ERM – “Emmerson”) is pleased to announce that its 2008 exploration program is set to begin with the execution of contracts to undertake major programs of geophysics and drilling as part of its forthcoming 2008 exploration field season within the Tennant Creek Mineral Field (TCMF) in the Northern Territory.
The planned exploration activities are consistent with Emmerson’s core Corporate Strategy and Business Plan of aggressive exploration utilising new technologies and concepts to reinvigorate discovery in the TCMF.
The Company has executed contracts for the geophysical surveys with Fugro Geophysical Services , the world’s largest geophysical contractor, and UTS Geophysics Pty Ltd , the company which has pioneered highresolution, low-level aeromagnetic surveys worldwide.
The Fugro contract will involve both detailed and regional ground gravity surveys consisting of approximately 15,000 gravity stations – the largest survey of its kind ever undertaken in the field. The gravity surveys have the potential to unlock a new generation of non-magnetic, hematite-hosted goldcopper-uranium deposits and will also assist in mapping the structural corridors which control the location of the mineralisation.

The UTS contract will extend the previous detailed aeromagnetic surveys along known productive gold corridors and provide additional geological and structural data to assist in defining new drill targets.
The drilling contract is with Gomex Drilling Pty Ltd, a South Australian-based company that has previous drilling experience in the TCMF. It will comprise a minimum of 20,000 metres of Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling designed to test a number of gold and gold-copper targets that Emmerson has generated, mostly representing potential extensions of known prospects and deposits.
This initial drill program will be followed by diamond drilling of these and other targets commencing mid year.
While drilling is scheduled to commence at Tennant Creek in April 2008 as access becomes available following the Northern Australian wet season, the geophysical teams will mobilise within the next 2 weeks.
Yours Sincerely

Background – Emmerson Resources
Emmerson Resources ( ASX: ERM – “Emmerson” ) is an Australian-based gold company focused on the exploration and development of the richly-endowed Tennant Creek Mineral Field (TCMF) in the Northern Territory of Australia, where it has a dominant ground position covering some 2,700km[2] . The Company listed on the ASX in December 2007 following a successful A$20 million IPO.
Emmerson’s exploration strategy is based around the application of modern exploration techniques and innovative methodologies to reinvigorate exploration activity in the TCMF - a world-class field which produced over 5.5 million ounces of gold and 470,000 tonnes of copper since its discovery in the 1930s.
The Company’s asset base also includes ownership of the only gold treatment facility in the region (the Warrego carbon-in-pulp processing plant) and a substantial geological database plus extensive infrastructure and equipment.
Emmerson is headed by a group of experienced Australian mining executives including Andrew McIlwain as NonExecutive Chairman, and former senior BHP Billiton and WMC executive Rob Bills as Managing Director and CEO.
