Elders appoints 2 new Non-Executive Directors

Elders Limited (ASX:ELD) announces the appointment of 2 Non-Executive Directors to the Company’s board of directors effective from today:

• Mr Rob Wylie , a chartered accountant with over 30 years of experience in accounting, audit and corporate governance. His previous roles include Executive Partner (Office of the Chief Executive Officer) and National Managing Director Corporate Governance Services (New York); Deloitte and Touche USA; Deputy Managing Partner, Deloitte Asia Pacific; and Chairman; Director – Board of Partners, Chief Executive Officer, Deloitte Australia.

• Mr Mark Allison , who brings 25 years of experience in the Australian agribusiness sector, with a particular expertise in senior management of rural distribution networks. This includes appointments as Managing Director of Wesfarmers Landmark Limited and Wesfarmers CSBP Limited and prior to Wesfarmers in senior positions within Orica as General Manager of Crop Care Australasia and with Incitec as General Manger- Fertilisers.

The appointments fill the vacancies created by the retirement of Mr Anthoni Salim, announced last week and Deputy Chairman Jim Fox who has advised he will not seek reappointment at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting. Both new appointees will stand for election as Directors at the Annual General Meeting on December 18.

“Both Directors have made a significant contribution to the Company and its re-emergence as a leading Australian agribusiness. I would particularly like to highlight the service given by Dr Fox over 24 years, the past 6 years of which have been as Deputy Chairman.”

“We are very pleased to have secured the services of directors of the calibre of Mr Wylie and Mr Allison as replacements. Both men bring first rate skills and experience which is directly relevant to the Company’s needs and operations.”

Elders Chairman Stephen Gerlach said that the appointments reflected the ongoing process of board renewal at the Company which had now seen the appointment of 5 new directors to the 9 member board in the past three years.
