Deutsche Wohnen AG: Oaktree investment in Deutsche Wohnen

It was announced today that the Oaktree Capital Group’s funds had sold

their 11.35% share in Deutsche Wohnen AG. Chief Financial Officer Helmut

Ullrich comments this decision:

‘Oaktree Capital Management has placed its remaining shares in Deutsche

Wohnen on the market. This seems to be consistent, given that Oaktree sold

half of its investment in October 2010. That shift in share ownership meant

that other big-name investors came on board and led to a sustainable

increase in our share’s liquidity.

Oaktree has given Deutsche Wohnen long-term support since 2007 – and has

backed GEHAG since 2004. In turn, we were able to provide impressive proof

that our business model works. We are active in the most attractive

metropolitan areas, the residential asset class is becoming increasingly

important for national and international investors alike, and our operating

result has been improving for years. All this means that we will continue

on our successful growth path with our new shareholder structure.’

Deutsche Wohnen AG will receive voting rights announcements indicating who

has purchased shares exceeding 3% in the next few days.
