Deutsche Wohnen – Financing and BauBeCon Contracts are Final

Frankfurt/Main and Berlin, 17 August 2012. Deutsche Wohnen AG today took
over the BauBeCon-Portfolio acquired from Barclays Bank PLC in May.
Deutsche Wohnen AG purchased the BauBeCon companies for approximately 1.235
Billion Euros (Enterprise Value). A combination of approximately 430
Million Euros in equity and approximately 700 Million Euros in borrowed
capital will be used to finance the purchase price.

The debt capital will be financed by Bayerische Landesbank, Deutsche
Pfandbriefbank AG, HSH Nordbank AG, UniCredit Bank AG, and Deutsche
Genossenschafts-Hypothekenbank AG.

Michael Zahn, Chief Execution Officer of Deutsche Wohnen AG, remarked:
'During the past weeks' negotiations with the financing banks, we have
clearly realized that years of trusting co-operation prove invaluable. Our
banks are familiar with our business model, are acquainted with the parties
involved, and our new partner banks - like UniCredit Bank AG - know who
they are cooperating with. Our ability to raise substantial amounts of
equity and outside capital, both quickly and professionally, makes us the
ideal partner in large transactions like the just realized BauBeCon deal.'
