Sovereign Gold Company Limited (ASX: SOC) (Sovereign) advises that Nicholas Raffan has for personal reasons, resigned from the Company as both CEO and Executive Director, effective immediately.

He has been a director since 16 September 2010 and has led the Company since its successful IPO in December 2010.

“I have enjoyed working at Sovereign and being a part of a solid management team. I look forward to hearing about the milestones as Sovereign moves forward to bigger and better things.” Nick Raffan said.

Commenting on the departure, Sovereign’s Chairman, John Dawkins said, “With over 30 years experience as a geologist, finance professional and mineral economist. Nick has been a valuable contributor to Sovereign’s ongoing strategic development. We wish him well and look forward to maintaining the strong personal relationship he has developed with all of the Board and staff during his time with Sovereign.”

Nick Raffan continues to be available and will provide ongoing support to Sovereign as required.

Executive Director and Chief Geologist, Michael Leu will take over the current responsibilities of Nick Raffan as acting CEO.
