APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT FINANCIAL ADVISER

Reference is made to the announcement of China Shipping Container Lines Company Limited (the “ Company ”) dated 11 October 2016 in relation to, among other things, (i) the Proposed Non-public Issuance of A Shares, (ii) the CS Subscription, (iii) the Specific Mandate, (iv) the Whitewash Wavier, (v) the Special Deal, (vi) the Proposed Amendments to the Articles of Association and (vii) the Shareholders’ Return Plan (the “ Announcement ”). Unless otherwise defined, capitalised terms used in this announcement shall have the same meanings as those defined in the Announcement.

The Board is pleased to announce that Messis Capital Limited has been appointed as the independent financial adviser (the “ Independent Financial Adviser ”) to advise the Independent Board Committee and the Independent Shareholders in respect of the Proposed Non-public Issuance of A Shares, the CS Subscription, the Specific Mandate, the Whitewash Waiver and the Special Deal, and to advise the Independent Shareholders on how to vote on the proposed resolutions at the EGM and the Class Meetings. The appointment of Messis Capital Limited as the Independent Financial Adviser has been approved by the Independent Board Committee.

Messis Capital Limited is licensed to carry out Type 1 (dealing in securities) and Type 6 (advising on corporate finance) regulated activities under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong).
