Fitton RC Drilling Program
-
Core Exploration is currently undertaking ~2500m RC drilling program on its Fitton tenement (EL4569)
-
Drilling is targeting shear-hosted uranium-copper-gold mineralisation
-
Targets consist of high grade copper and uranium and in outcrop associated with subsurface magnetic anomalies
-
Drilling will test 6 magnetic targets at Scott Lee, Choppy, Siri, Livingstone, Sherlock and Hamilton prospects
-
Approximately 2000m of drilling completed to date across 20 holes
-
Drilling should be completed by the last week of November
-
• No assays received yet, but initial results are expected late November

Fitton Drill Target Geology
-
Uranium, copper and gold mineralisation occurs along a series of ESE trending shear zones within Palaeoproterozoic and Mesoproterozoic rocks of the Mt Painter Inlier.
-
Mineralisation is structurally controlled along east-southeast trending shear zones.
-
Alteration consists of chlorite+/-hematite+/-magnetite+/-quartz+/- carbonate with late hydrothermal vein quartz.
-
Minor brecciation is evident in more competent lithologies such as granite and quartz veins.
-
At Scott Lee the shear zone is focussed along a mafic dyke within uranium rich granite of the Moolawatana Suite (1560-1551 Ma).
-
Copper mineralisation is composed of secondary malachite after chalcopyritebornite-chalcocite.
-
Drilling has encountered highly anomalous uranium (>1000 cps) at Scott Lee.
Fitton geological similarities to Mt Gee
-
The Fitton mineralisation appears to have most geological similarities with the Mt Gee Uranium-REE Deposit at Mt Painter.
-
Mt Gee deposit contains 69Mlb (31,400T) of U3O8 (Total Resource of 51 Mt at 615 ppm U3O8) within the Paralana U-REE-polymetallic Mineral System

Albarta in Australia’s new IOCG system
-
Core’s Albarta IOCG Project covers 2,000km[2] in Australia’s newly confirmed East Arunta IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper Gold) system in the NT
-
The tenements include a number of prospects with high grade copper, gold, uranium, silver and/or REE at surface
-
The NTGS (Northern Territory Geological Survey) ground breaking work discovered copper at surface
-
Mithril Resources (ASX:MTH) first mover exploration has made further copper discoveries at surface and confirmed copper IOCG mineralisation with drilling
-
Core has identified a number of large-scale, regional structures thought to control mineralisation which transect 100km of our new Albarta IOCG tenement package
-
Copper (IOCG) mineralisation is associated with structurally controlled fluoriterich, iron-oxide breccias, hosted by Mesoproterozoic granites
-
Outcropping IOCG Target Geology
Strong Position in new IOCG Province
-
Core broadens exploration activity with large strategic holding of NT exploration tenements
-
20 mostly contiguous tenements covering 2,000km[2] in a new IOCG province
-
Existing mineralisation at surface a strong indicator of prospectivity
-
Disparate ownership of tenements has meant that no systematic exploration previously undertaken on tenements for IOCG style targets
-
New NT IOCG project compliments Core’s Roxby and Yorke Peninsula SA IOCG strategy
-
Exploration to commence in Q4 2012 with Core utilising latest exploration techniques on new tenements
-
Recent success by Mithril at nearby Basil Prospect (151Kt Cu - Inferred Resource of 26.5Mt @ 0.57% Cu) and on Illogwa IOCG Project (Austin Prospect, etc) highlights the potential of the area.
Strong Strategy in new IOCG Province
Core will be exposed to the upside from:
-
CXO exploration success
-
Exploration and mining success in the region as investment activity increases
-
Growing industry and market recognition of a new, outcropping IOCG terrain
-
Exposure to gold, REE, uranium commodities along with copper focus
-
Potential to bring in high-spend JV partners on non-core commodities and tenements
