Cha r ter Hall Gr o up (ASX:C H C) (the G r oup or Ch a rter Hall) t o day confirms that Mac q uarie Grou p (Ma c quarie) ha s advised it w ill not exer c ise its optio n to remain i n No. 1 M a rtin Place, S ydney at th e completion of its existing lea s es. No. 1 M artin Place i s owned in a 50:50 joint venture wit h Charter Ha l l Offi c e REIT (A S X:CQO) an d a single a sset syndic a te manage d by Charter Hall, with both entitie s own i ng their 50 % interest sin c e 2002.

Mac q uarie has advised t h at it has entered int o an agre e ment to acquire and refurbish a heri t age building in the Sydn e y CBD.

This decision d o es not imp a ct revenue receivable b y the owne r s under th e current lea s es at No. 1 Mar t in Place tha t mature bet w een Dece m ber 2014 a n d December 2016 and it has no im p act upon th e priv a tisation pro p osal recentl y approved b y CQO unit h olders on 1 5 March 201 2 . Manage m ent does not exp e ct the vaca n cy to have a material i m pact on th e Group’s F Y 12 to FY14 operating e a rnings or it s net tangible ass e t value.
