CHARTER HALL GROUP APPOINTS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Charter Hall Group (ASX:CHC) (the ‘Group’) today announced the appointment of Paul Altschwager as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The appointment follows the formal recruitment process which commenced earlier this year.
A chartered accountant, Mr Altschwager brings over 20 years’ experience across corporate finance, capital management, mergers and acquisitions, financial policy, treasury, risk management and operations finance to Charter Hall.
Charter Hall’s Joint Managing Director, David Southon said Mr Altschwager will be a valuable addition to the Group’s management team.
“We are very pleased Paul is joining the Group as CFO. Paul’s considerable financial and management experience and solid knowledge of property will be a great benefit to the Group,” Mr Southon said.
Joint Managing Director, David Harrison, said: “Paul will be responsible for the management and direction of the Group’s finance and accounting functions including financial control, tax, treasury, group planning and analysis, compliance and risk, insurance, IT and administration.”
Mr Altschwager will join Charter Hall in the New Year after nine years with Westfield where his most recent role was CFO, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to this Mr Altschwager held a number of senior financial roles for major organisations including Qantas Airways Ltd and Southcorp Holdings Ltd.
Mr Altschwager has a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Adelaide.
