Pursuant to Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 and other applicable provisions, we would like to inform that, SEBI vide its Letter No. SEBI/HO/MRD/RAC2/P/OW/2025/1450/1 dated January 14, 2025, has approved the re-appointment of Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri as Public Interest Director on the Board of BSE Limited for a further period of three (3) years with effect from May 19, 2025.

Disclosure required as per SEBI Circular SEBI/HO/CFD/CFD-PoD-1/P/CIR/2023/123 dated July 13, 2023, is enclosed as Annexure I.

BRIEF PROFILE

Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri was a Former Director of IIT Bombay and is currently acting as the K.N. Bajaj Chair Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering.

Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri pursued his B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 1985 and M.Sc. (Electrical Engineering) from University of Calgary in 1987 and Ph.D. (Electrical Engineering) in 1990 from University of California.

Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri has held a number of important positions at IIT Bombay, including Head, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Dean (International Relations) and Deputy Director (Academic & Infrastructure Affairs).

Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri has received several major awards recognizing his research excellence, which include the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize (CSIR), Swarnajayanti Fellowship (DST), J.C. Bose Fellowship (DST) and the G.D. Birla Award among several others.

Prof. Chaudhuri was conferred with the prestigious title “TUM Ambassador” by Technical University Munich (TUM), Germany, and D.Sc. (honoris causa) from Burdwan University. He is a Fellow of IEEE (USA), Indian National Science Academy (INSA), Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc.), Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and National Academy of Science India (NASI). He has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of IIT Kharagpur.
