Audeara Limited (ASX:AUA) (‘Audeara’ or ‘the Company’) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Elaine Saunders as Independent Non-executive Director of the Audeara board. Elaine will commence with Audeara on 1 January 2022.

Audeara’s Chair, Mr David Trimboli, said:

“We are thrilled to welcome Elaine to the Board. She is a very well accomplished and passionate member of the hearing health community, co-founding and leading two award-winning companies which changed the hearing industry; Blamey Saunders hears, and Dynamic Hearing Pty Ltd. Both were sold to major international companies; Sonova and Cirrus Logic, via Wolfson Microelectronics.

Elaine’s understanding and knowledge of the hearing health care space is second to none. Her work with Blamey Saunders Hears is particularly notable, having designed and manufactured Australia’s own unique and self-fit hearing aid, pioneering tele-audiology in Australia. She has lived the journey we're on now and that experience will be invaluable to our future growth”.

Elaine is a Biomedical Engineer, Audiological Scientist, business-woman, author, speaker and professional director. She started her career in the British NHS and now leads consulting company; Bingarra Scale-Up Solutions, specialising in helping businesses through growth.

Elaine’s personal awards include the American Academy of Audiology’s award for research within industry, the AFR/Westpac’s 100 Women of Influence (2015), and the ATSE Clunies Ross Medal for Entrepreneur of the Year (2016). In 2004 she was the National Telstra Businesswoman of the Year in the Government, Private and Corporate Sector. She is a Churchill Fellow; a Fellow of the Academy of Technology, Science and Engineering; an Adjunct Professor at Swinburne University; an active mentor to Women in STEM and to early stage medical device companies.
