Acquisition Film Insurance Underwriting Agencies Pty Ltd

Austbrokers Holdings Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary Austagencies, has acquired Film Insurance Underwriting Agencies Pty Ltd (FIUA) with effect from 1[st] January 2012.

Mr. Lach McKeough Austbrokers CEO stated that this business would complement Austagencies existing film and television insurance underwriting agency.

Mr. Joe Lo Surdo will continue as FIUA’s Managing Director and Cherie Madigan currently with Latitude Film & TV will become General Manager.

Executive Director of FIUA, Mr. Neil McEwin will become a consultant to Austagencies.

Mr Craig Patterson Managing Director of Austagencies stated that this acquisition will allow us to integrate the complementary businesses of FIUA with Latitude Film & TV to provide market leading capabilities to our brokers and their customers in this very specialist niche arena.

Mr Joe Lo Surdo and Mr Neil McEwin are delighted with the announcement and both believe that the combined entity would provide greater capabilities in the challenging and advancing area in which they specialise.

FIUA writes approximately $6 million in premium.

The acquisition price was $4.5 million, which will be funded from Austbrokers existing cash reserves, with $0.9 million of the purchase price deferred until 7[th] January 2013.

Austbrokers will release its first half year profit announcement on Monday 27[th] February 2012.
