ASX ANNOUNCEMENT

PLANS TO LAUNCH A NEW LISTED INVESTMENT COMPANY WITH GLOBAL SECURITIES MANDATE

Melbourne, 9 February 2017: Contango Asset Management Limited ( Company ) (ASX:CGA) is pleased to announce its intention to launch Contango Global Growth Limited, a proposed ASX listed investment company that will actively invest in a portfolio of global listed securities.

The Company is fortunate to be working with WCM Investment Management ( WCM ) who will be appointed as an investment services consultant to deliver this global growth mandate for local investors. WCM is a global equities specialist fund manager with approximately A$21.1 billion in assets under management. An established independent fund manager located in Laguna Beach California, WCM has a long-term track record of successful active equities management for more than 20 years.

It is currently anticipated that a prospectus for the initial public offering will be lodged by Contango Global Growth Limited with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission ( ASIC ) in April 2017. Eligible persons interested in acquiring securities under the offer will need to complete the application form accompanying the prospectus, which will be made available at www.contango.com.au after the prospectus has been lodged with ASIC.

K&L Gates is acting as Australian legal adviser for the offer and Joint Lead Managers are in the process of being appointed.
