Divestment of Mali Assets
Golden Rim Resources Ltd ( Golden Rim ; ASX: GMR) today announced that it has received notification from Sandeep Gold Resources SARL ( Sandeep Gold ) that, despite completing a positive due diligence on the permits, it is now unable to meet the first payment of US$1.1 million in cash which was due on the 5 April 2013. This payment was the first in a series of payments totalling US$4.4 million that were due to be paid by Sandeep Gold before the 31 December 2013.
Failure by Sandeep Gold to meet the payment deadline means the agreement is at an end. Golden Rim will now consider alternative options for the divestment of the Mali assets. A number of other companies have expressed interest in acquiring the permits and Golden Rim will follow up with these companies.
