ASX/Media Announcement

Aeromagnetics Outlines New Gold Targets at Sebba in Burkina Faso

Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX: GMR, Golden Rim ) is pleased to announce that the recently completed high resolution airborne magnetic survey has outlined three major structural zones at the Sebba Project (Burkina Faso) which are believed to be highly prospective settings for gold mineralisation (Figure 1).

The aeromagnetics has identified a highly complex series of major structures including three regional NE-SW trending shear zones, up to 3km wide, and associated cross structures. The major shears collectively have a strike length in excess of 140km . To date, only 22km of strike length has been explored by Golden Rim on one of the shear zones which transect the Yipelli and Gandi permits.

The structure explored to date has a relatively subdued magnetic signature compared to the other major shear zones identified by the survey. Golden Rim’s work on this structure has defined a major gold-insoil anomaly and produced significant gold intercepts at the Tyena Prospect (the best intercepts include, 8m at 2.43 g/t gold, 12m at 1.46 g/t gold and 12m at 1.34 g/t gold) in a first pass RAB drilling programme.

The aeromagnetic survey was flown by Xcalibur Airborne Geophysics (Pty) Ltd, from South Africa, and covered an area of more than 1,175 km[2] . The survey was conducted on north-south, 200m spaced, lines with a nominal ground clearance of 30m.

Soil sampling and geological mapping has recently commenced on the Komondi permit at Sebba along the southern NE-trending shear zone. This shear appears to extend northeast to the extensive Solna artisanal gold workings located on Predictive Discovery’s (ASX: PDI) Bangaba project area. Solna is the largest artisanal mining community in the region with over 4,000 inhabitants.

A detailed structural interpretation of the new magnetic data at Sebba has also commenced.

New Exploration Permits

Golden Rim has agreements to acquire 100% ownership in 3 newly granted exploration permits (Diagotta, Komondi and Namantougou) at Sebba. The agreements are on similar terms to previous agreements with a total cash payment for each permit ranging between US$105,000 – US$160,000. The payments are to be made in stages over 3 years.

Two additional permits (Gandi and Dioga) that comprise the Sebba Project were recently renewed for a further 3 years, whereas Golden Rim has withdrawn from two permits (Fouga and Kourori) following negative surface geochemical sampling results.

Golden Rim now has 7 continguous granted exploration permits in the Sebba Project covering an area of 1,500km[2] . The total permit holding in Burkina Faso is now 3,140km[2] .
