New Chairman Appointed
Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX: GMR, Golden Rim , Company ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Glenister Lamont as Non-Executive Independent Chairman to its Board of Directors.
Mr Lamont has been on the Board of Golden Rim since July 2007 and has a thorough understanding of the Company’s business and operations.
Mr Lamont is a professional non-executive director having served on the boards of listed companies, a government utility and not for profit organisations. His roles have encompassed both chairmanship of the organisation as well as chairmanship of numerous sub-committees. He has an Honours degree in Mining Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from IMD, Switzerland. Mr Lamont is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He has worked as a mining engineer and manager in gold, base metal and coal mines. As General Manager for Ashton Mining Ltd, he led strategic planning and commercial implementation of business development. Before that, as an Executive Director at UBS and its predecessors, he undertook financial, technical and strategic evaluation of companies and participated in many corporate transactions.
Mr Rick Crabb steps down as Chairman, however remains on the board of Golden Rim as an independent non-executive director. Mr Crabb has been Chairman of the Company for over a decade and has ably lead and strongly supported Golden Rim through a number of successes and both the ups and downs of the junior resources market over this time.
