Appen Limited (ASX: APX) – Trading Halt
Description
The securities of Appen Limited (‘APX’) will be placed in trading halt at the request of APX, pending it releasing an announcement. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in trading halt until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Wednesday, 13 March 2019 or when the announcement is released to the market.

RE: APPEN LIMITED – REQUEST FOR TRADING HALT
Pursuant to ASX Listing Rule 17.1, Appen Limited (ASX: APX) ( Appen ) requests an immediate trading halt be granted by ASX Limited ( ASX ) with respect to its shares from the commencement of trading on Monday 11 March 2019 .
The trading halt is requested in connection with a proposed material acquisition and capital raising, including an institutional placement and share purchase plan.
The following information is provided in accordance with Listing Rule 17.1:

Reason for trading halt – to avoid trading taking place on an uninformed basis and to allow the institutional placement to take place in an orderly manner.

Duration of the trading halt – Appen expects that the trading halt will last until it makes an announcement to ASX concerning the outcome of the institutional placement, which it expects to make before the commencement of trading on Tuesday 12 March 2019.

Termination of trading halt – Appen anticipates that the trading halt will cease upon the commencement of normal trading on Tuesday 12 March 2019.

No reason – Appen is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted.
