NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPOINTMENT

Appen Ltd (ASX: APX) (Appen) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Deena Shiff as an independent non-executive director of the Company, effective Friday 15 May 2015.

Commenting on the appointment, Appen Chairman Mr. Chris Vonwiller said

“Deena Shiff is a strong addition to the Appen board. She has an impressive range of skills including deep experience in international business, growth oriented businesses and regulatory frameworks.”

Ms Shiff has enjoyed a distinguished business career, covering senior roles in the legal profession and in corporate positions. She was a partner in the leading law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques before joining Telstra Corporation where she rose to Group Managing Director. She holds several other non-executive director roles, including in Citadel Group Ltd, IPscape Ltd and Paloma Mobile.

Ms Shiff holds a degree in law from Cambridge University and a degree in economics from the London School of Economics, both with honours. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
