Company history

1962 In response to the government’s policy of developing Taiwan’s tourism industry, the
Ambassador Hotel Taipei is incorporated. Its goal is to establish the first international-
standard hotel in Taiwan, with an investment of NT$60million.
1964 The hotel opens its head office on the present site of the Ambassador Hotel Taipei.
1978 In response to the government’s policy of developing the tourism industry in southern
Taiwan, the Ambassador Hotel Kaoshiung is founded.
Stock dividends are paid to Ambassador Hotel shareholders.
The Ambassador Hotel Taipei initiates an expansion project.
1979 The Ambassador Hotel Taipei expansion project is completed.
1981 The Ambassador Hotel Kaoshiung officially opens.
1982 Ambassador Hotel shares are listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
1983 The Ambassador Hotel Taipei and Kaoshiung are both rated as “Five Plum” tourist hotels
by Taiwan’s Tourism Bureau.
