Alfen awarded with multi-year contract to supply substations to Enexis Netbeheer

's-Hertogenbosch / Almere: Enexis Netbeheer, one of the largest grid operators in the Netherlands, and Alfen, specialist in energy solutions for the future, today announce that Alfen has been awarded a contract for the supply of prefab and accessible distribution substations to Enexis Netbeheer. This is a continuation of a decades-long relationship between Enexis Netbeheer and Alfen of offering smart and reliable grid solutions, and marks another step in further preparing the electricity grid for the energy transition. The contract will have an initial term of four years, and can be extended with four additional years.

Marco Roeleveld, CEO of Alfen, comments: "We are proud to continue our decades-long relationship which is characterised by continued innovation. Not only have we supplied Enexis Netbeheer with our smart grid solutions over the past decades, we also jointly worked on innovations on energy storage, grid automation and electric vehicle charging. For example, at the beginning of this year, we rolled-out a smart charging network with 98 chargers for electric vehicles at the parking garage of Enexis' headquarters. The extension of our contract for the supply of substations is a great testimony to our strong focus on delivering high quality solutions that facilitate the future needs of the electricity grid."

Han Slootweg, Director of Asset Management of Enexis Netbeheer, adds: "In Alfen we have found a partner that offers high quality products. As their long lasting customer, we value their technological know-how, innovative mindset and flexibility. These characteristics make us look forward to continue our strong cooperation with Alfen for the years to come. Our strong partnership greatly contributes to coping with the huge challenges posed by the rapidly evolving energy transition."
