Improving the road network in Gothenburg

Betonmast, a subsidiary of AF Gruppen, has signed a contract with the Swedish Transport Administration for the enhancement of the southern part of the Hisingsleden arterial road in Gothenburg. The contract is a turn key contract valued at approximately SEK 123 million, excluding VAT.

The works encompass the expansion of the existing road and the construction of three bridges and one interchange.

The Hisingsleden road is being redeveloped to make it safer for traffic and accessible. The road currently has two lanes - one for each direction of traffic - but will be expanded to four lanes, including a central reservation. The project will cover a total distance of 2.2 kilometres.

‘These works will have a marked positive impact on accessibility and safety in the area. Our safety work will also be particularly important given passing traffic in parallel with our roadworks and bridge construction,’ says Jørgen Evensen, CEO of Betonmast.

Works will begin immediately and are expected to be complete in June 2023.
