Nominated for contract by the City of Bergen
LAB Entreprenør, a company in AF Gruppen, has been nominated by the City of Bergen as contractor for the rehabilitation and remodelling of the old teacher’s college at Landås in Bergen.
The existing buildings totalling 18,300 square metres were built in 1963 and extended in 1995. The building that previously was used as a teacher’s college will become Bergen’s centre for inclusion after rehabilitation and remodelling. The City’s ambition is that the centre shall promote inclusion and dignity and offer a wide range of cultural and sports activities. The building will accommodate the Commissioner for culture, diversity and equality through the Department for Inclusion’s activities that comprise the Department office, the Introduction Centre and teaching purposes with adult education (the current Nygård school). Shared use of the building’s sport areas have been agreed with the Department of Sports.
The work involves full rehabilitation and remodelling of the current buildings. The project will be executed with passive house standard and meet requirements under the technical standards to approximate zero emission level
Work starts in the first quarter of 2021, and completion is scheduled for September 2023. The contract is a design and build contract with a value estimated at NOK 415 million excluding VAT.
