LAB nominated as contractor to build new county administration building in Bergen

LAB Entreprenør AS, a company in AF Gruppen (AFG), has been nominated by Hordaland County Municipality as contractor to build the new county administration building in Bergen city centre.

LAB Entreprenør’s offer was rated best in a price and design contest with four other providers. A final contract will include demolition of the existing county administration building from 1972 and construction of a new county administration building with the same footprint. The new building will contain public functions and work space for approx. 600 employees for the new Vestland County Municipality (the merger of the existing Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane counties from 2020). In addition, the building will contain office spaces for around 600 people as well as smaller commercial areas for hire. The building will be approx. 26,000 square metres in total, with two towers of 11 and 13 stories above street level as well as two basement stories. The building will be classified BREEAM Excellent.

The contract is a turnkey contract in collaboration with a total value of approx. NOK 737 million, excl. VAT.

The collaboration phase will take place from April to October 2019. Construction will commence in February 2020 with scheduled completion in the fall of 2022.
