AF Gruppen helps expand silicon factory

AF Gruppen helps expand silicon factory

German Wacker Chemie AG has chosen AF Gruppen (AFG) as contractor

for foundations and structural work in connection with the expansion

of Holla Smelteverk in Kyrksæterøra.

The silicon is destined for the WACKER production of silicones used

in a broad range of applications and of hyper-pure polysilicon used

as key raw material for electronic semiconductor chips and solar

cells. The plant is scheduled for completion in the first half of

2019. AF's work will continue until October 2018.

The contract is worth about NOK 150 million.
