UPDATE ON STRATEGIC REVIEW

Straits Resources Limited (“Straits” or “Company”) refers to the Company’s announcement on 10 August 2012 confirming Investec Bank (Australia) Limited had been appointed to review strategic options available to the Company to strengthen its capital structure and identify opportunities to best maximise value for Straits’ shareholders.

The Company is currently considering a number of proposals that have been put to it. While all the proposals are different in structure, they are all expected to meet the Company’s funding requirements.

The Company continues to evaluate and progress options identified as part of the strategic review.
