MOTA-ENGIL INFORMS ABOUT THE SIGNING OF NEW CONTRACTS IN MEXICO WORTH CIRCA OF 1,020 MILLION EUROS
Mota-Engil S.G.P.S., S.A. ("MOTA-ENGIL") announces that its subsidiary MOTA-ENGIL MEXICO has signed a new railway construction contract with Secretaria de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes (a Mexican government agency) for a total amount of circa of 820 million euros.
The new contract, which will have an estimated duration of 29 months, includes the design and construction of the second stretch (between Apaseo el Grande and Irapuato) of the Querétaro–Irapuato railway connection, with a total length of 70.7 km. Therefore, MOTA-ENGIL MEXICO, after been awarded the first stretch of that connection last August, secured the entire execution of this important railway connection, which is a strategic project within Mexico's National Railway Plan.
Additionally, also in Mexico, it is worth to highlight the recent award of several contracts totaling circa of 200 million euros related to the construction of railway infrastructures.
Thus, with these contracts, MOTA-ENGIL resumes the growth of its backlog in Mexico, which already amounts to circa of 3.7 billion euros, strengthening its position today as the largest European railway infrastructure constructor.
