MOTA-ENGIL INFORMS ON A NEW CONTRACT WORTH €636 MILLION IN MEXICO

MOTA-ENGIL S.G.P.S., S.A. (MOTA-ENGIL) hereby informs about the adjudication to MOTA-ENGIL MÉXICO in a partnership, leaded by MOTA-ENGIL with 58%, with China Communications Construction Company, of a new contract for the construction of the first stretch of the new railway infrastructure known as "Tren Maya" in Mexico.

The contract will total circa €636 million and includes the construction of a 228 km stretch of the mentioned infrastructure - the largest public railway investment project in recent years in Latin America - which will support the promotion of the economic activity of 5 states in the south of the country (Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, Quintan Roo and Chiapas).

This important award demonstrates the GROUP's technical capabilities in railway construction, already shown in several geographies, and reinforces the presence of MOTA-ENGIL as an essential player in the Mexican market and in the Latin America region.

By achieving this relevant commercial goal in Mexico, MOTA-ENGIL reinforces the balance of its activity between the three regions where it operates and confirms sustainability of its business and strong commercial dynamics, even in times of pandemic.
