Thorendahl to renovate Briskeby fire station
Thorendahl, a company in AF Gruppen, has won a major contract with Omsorgsbygg Oslo KF to renovate Briskeby fire station.
The project involves complete renovation of the main building, in addition to the side building, accommodation section, practice tower and garage facility, including the parking surface. In addition, a sand silo on the area is to be demolished. The familiar façade of the buildings at the top of Løvenskiolds gate are protected. The fire station, which was completed in 1963, will be fully operational during the construction period. Its responsibilities include several of the most important buildings in Oslo, including the Royal Palace and a number of embassies.
According to the award letter concerning procurement of the integrated Briskeby fire station project contract, the overall evaluation amount of NOK 5.9 million forms the basis of the evaluation. In the integration phase, structural work within the client's budget ceiling of NOK 110 million will be defined for phase 2 of the project, which is defined as an option in the contract.
"This is a type of job that is well suited for Thorendahl. We have the expertise, experience and lifting capacity required to rehabilitate this proud building. We rely on our own professionals, and believe that having our own permanent staff is the way forward. This ensures good capacity, and we retain key specialist expertise in the company," says general manager and master bricklayer Ingvar Røang of Thorendahl.
Thorendahl is owned by MTH, which is a part of AF Gruppen. The company has focused on having its own permanent staff, which provides both Thorendahl and the client with good transparency and control with working conditions and execution of the project.
