AF Gruppen to build for Statkraft Energi in Høyanger

AF Gruppen has been contracted by Statkraft Energi to build a new access tunnel and road to Eringsdalen power station's magazines in the municipality of Høyanger.

AF Gruppen will build a 3.8 km tunnel and upgrade approx. 10 km of roads from Eiriksdal power station to Eringsdal for Statkraft Energy AS. The tunnel and road system will provide access to the hydro-electric reservoirs in the rock, and used for the forthcoming upgrade works on dams. The access tunnel will replace existing tram line used for access to date for inspections and maintenance in the mountains east of Høyanger.

Work starts in September 2018 and will be completed in March 2021. The contract is worth about NOK 200 million.
