Multiconsult (OSE: Multi) set to deliver engineering services for the Sotra project

Statens vegvesen has selected the Sotra Link to design, build and operate the

Sotra project PPP (NO: Rv.555 Sotrasambandet) outside Bergen at the west coast

of Norway. Sotra Link includes Macquarie Group Ltd, SK Ecoplant Co. Ltd Webuild

S.p.A. Multiconsult is set to deliver design and engineering services as the

main designer, except for the suspension bridge. The contract is subject to

final agreement with the contractors. The design work is planned to start within

1-2 months.

The Sotra project is a new road system, including main road, tunnels, secondary

roads, bridges, structures and large intersections between Kolltveit, Øygarden

municipality and Storavatnet, Bergen municipality.

The total PPP (Public-private partnership) project has a budget of more than NOK

19 billion. The total project is currently not funded and must await approval in

the National Budget for 2022. The contract for the design and build phase is

expected to be signed in first half of 2022.
