Betonmast, a subsidiary of AF Gruppen, has been nominated by Nordre Follo municipality for the building of Sofiemyr school in Nordre Follo. The value of the contract is estimated at around NOK 210 million excluding VAT.

The contract is planned as a collaborative contract in phase 1 with extension of collaboration to phase 2. There is nevertheless a possibility to proceed to phase 2 with a turnkey contract. The contract value will be included in the order backlog when the final contract for execution has been signed.

The project involves building a new elementary school to replace the existing Sofiemyr school. The school will be designed as an elementary school with 4 parallel classes, with around 650 -785 pupils and approx. 90-100 staff. Sofiemyr school will be built in accordance with the passive house standard. The project aims to use used and recycled building products and materials in the school building and achieve a greenhouse gas reduction of at least 35 per cent in comparison with a TEK 17 building.

Start of construction is estimated for the autumn of 2022 with completion in January 2024.
