New wind power assignment in central Sweden
AF Gruppen subsidiary Kanonaden Entreprenad will carry out the construction work for a cluster of three wind parks in the Dalarna region of Sweden. The contract is worth a total of SEK 160 million, excluding VAT.
The project consists of 16 wind turbines distributed across three parks in the municipalities of Avesta and Hedemora in the Dalarna region. The turbines have a maximum installed capacity to generate 99 MW.
The client is Eolus, and Kanonaden will be responsible for the construction on a turn key basis of roads and foundations, as well as installing the internal electrical networks for the parks.
In recent years, Kanonaden had built up extensive experience in construction work related to wind power and have previously carried out several commissions on behalf of Eolus.
“This new project in Dalarna is a vital starting point for our investment in wind power in central Sweden. We have a great partnership in place with Eolus and are delighted to have this opportunity to contribute to their work by enhancing the provision of renewable electricity in Sweden,” says Bård Frydenlund, EVP of AF Gruppen for Sweden.
Kanonaden will commence construction works in April 2022 and the wind parks are scheduled to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2023.
