Betonmast, a subsidiary of AF Gruppen, has signed a contract with Devoldholmen Utvikling AS to build Campus Kristiansund in Kristiansund. Following a clarification period, the turn key contract for construction phase 1 has now been signed. The value of the turn key contract is approximately NOK 582 million excluding VAT.
Campus Kristiansund will become a common arena for higher education, research, and innovation in Nordmøre. Relevant actors in Campus are educational institutions such as Molde University College, Møre og Romsdal County Municipality and local and regional businesses.
Campus Kristiansund will become a future-oriented environmental building with massive wood as the main supporting structure. The project will be environmentally certified in accordance with BREEAM-NOR Excellent. The contract that has now been signed covers the first construction phase of a total of three and encompasses upwards of 20,000 m2 of gross floor area comprising 6 storeys above ground in addition to 3,000 m2 of underground car parking. “Campus Kristiansund is perhaps the most important project in the region for a long time. The project includes centers of expertise and excellence such as the university college and vocational school, as well as research institutions and more, and will as such be important for Kristiansund as a strong regional center in the northern part of Møre og Romsdal. We are proud be a part of this, and now we’re looking forward to getting started with the project”, says CEO Jørgen Evensen of Betonmast.
Construction is expected to begin during the second quarter of 2022, with completion in the third quarter of 2024.
