Multiconsult set to deliver services for planned bridge with associated infrastructure in Sarpsborg

Multiconsult (Oslo: MULTI) has been selected as advisor to carry out detailed

zoning plan and preliminary technical design for development of bridge crossing

at Sarpsfossen for Viken County Municipality (NOR: Viken fylkeskommune). This is

a complex project that includes the bridge (NOR name: ny Sarpsbru) with

associated infrastructure - with road, footpath and cycle path crossing on each

side of the bridge. The assignment will seek various bridge and road solutions

and facilitate public transport and shorter and more efficient footpath and

cycling path solutions for crossing the river Glomma.

The detailed zoning plan and preliminary technical design, for fv. 118 ny

Sarpsbru, is complex project that includes all disciplines in the line of work,

the project will need to consider various stakeholders with different

deliberations as the bridge will have proximity to existing railway, power plant

production and is in a very cultural heritage area, in addition there are

difficult ground conditions with quick clay.

The work will start during the second half of 2022 and is expected to be

finalised by end of 2023. The contract value for Multiconsult is not set.
