Multiconsult wins new electrification project contract in Tanzania
Multiconsult (Oslo: MULTI)
Rural Energy Agency (Tanzania) has selected Multiconsult Norge AS with Norplan
Tanzania Ltd (49% owned by Multiconsult ASA) to provide consultancy services and
technical assistance to support the implementation of the National Rural
Electrification Program in Tanzania.
Work will begin during the first quarter of 2023 and is scheduled to be
completed within 24 months. The project is financially supported from the Agence
Française de Développement (AFD), and the total contract value to Multiconsult
is approximately NOK 50.0 million.
The main scope of the National Rural Electrification Program in Tanzania is to
develop and expand the electricity grid connections and thus access to
electricity for households, businesses and public facilities in rural areas of
Tanzania. Multiconsult's assignment is to provide technical assistance services
in the implementation related to design and supervision of works for the various
components and contract lots. The project also includes support for
implementation of hybrid generation systems, combining new solar power with
existing diesel generator units.
