Saint Petersburg, 16 June 2016 – The official ceremony for the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding (the "MOU") between Tesmec S.p.A. (MTA, STAR: TES), at the head of a group leader in the market of infrastructures related to the transport and distribution of energy, data and materials, and the Russian group JSC "Rosseti", the only Russian operator in the field of power transmission, has taken place today in Saint Petersburg, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2016.
Ambrogio Caccia Dominioni, Chairman and CEO of Tesmec S.p.A., and Oleg Mihailovich Budargin, General Manager of Rosseti attended the today's ceremony. Moreover, Cesare Maria Ragaglini, Italian Ambassador in Moscow, and Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia were also present.
The MOU sets out the fundamental principles of technological cooperation between the two Groups for the introduction on the Russian market of the new generation Smart Metering Tool (SMT), an innovative measuring system for 10 kV power lines developed by Tesmec Group, which measure basic grid parameters (energy, power, voltage, current and phase angle). This system is extremely innovative and designed thanks to the high level of specialization achieved by Tesmec Energy Automation Division that was able to combine the state of the art of the technology with the needs of the Russian grids.
The MOU signed today follows on from the Cooperation Agreement relating to innovation, modernization and development of ENES (unified transmission network), which was ratified on 21 July 2011 at the Italian Embassy in Moscow, with JSC "FSK EES" (Open Joint-stock company Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System), the only operator for the management, maintenance and development of the national electricity grid. Moreover, the MOU follows on from the scientific and technological agreement relating to construction technologies and overhead power line operation, signed on 26 November 2013 in Trieste with Rosseti, during the Italian-Russian Intergovernmental Summit.
The Chairman and CEO Ambrogio Caccia Dominioni said: "We are very proud that an important player such as Rosseti has chosen us as partner for a project that concerns the Russian power lines management and efficiency through the application of innovative and integrated solutions, designed by our Group. The signature of this MOU is a reward for the great work, which has been carried on by Tesmec Group since 2011, as well as for our distinctive technological expertise and our wide knowledge of the Russian market. This will enable us to best show our numerous strong points."
Tesmec Group has been operating in Russia and in the countries of the former Soviet Union for 20 years and since 2011 it has its own local subsidiary with the aim to fully meet customers' requirements.
