THE TESMEC GROUP IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC MARKET WITH A NEW CONTRACT IN THE RAILWAY SECTOR

• Total value: approx. Euro 8 million for the supply of 4 multi-purpose rail vehicles for the maintenance of railway lines, as well as for full maintenance service (FMS) for 6 years;
• Customer: ELZEL Elektrizace železnic Praha, a leading company in the design, production, assembly and construction of catenary in Czech Republic and Slovakia;
• This contract consolidates the international positioning of Tesmec Group in the field of designing and manufacturing of equipment and special vehicles for railway line operations, a sector in which the Group has already important experiences in Italy, USA, Norway and China.

18th , October 2019 – Tesmec S.p.A. (MTA, STAR: TES), at the head of a group leader in the market of infrastructures related to the transport and distribution of energy, data and materials, announces the signature, via its subsidiary Tesmec Rail S.r.l., of a contract with a total value of approx. Euro 8 million with the Czech Group Elektrizace železnic Praha a.s. ("ELZEL") for the supply of railway vehicles equipped with signaling system, homologation and full maintenance service (FMS) for 6 years.

In detail, Tesmec Group will supply 4 rail vehicles with bogies for catenary maintenance, OCPD001-CZ, designed in compliance with the highest safety standards in force in the European Union according to the EN14033 standard. These are multi-purpose and versatile vehicles equipped with on-board control system for travelling in train mode (maximum speed 140 km/h), ensuring the activity of passenger trains in Italy without the interruption of the line. The vehicles are equipped with platform and crane with integrated wire positioner to guarantee operations in a safer, more efficient and faster way.

The contract also provides for the supply of diagnostic systems to measure the height and the polygonation of the catenary wire for the certification of the performed activities. The delivery of the rail vehicles will take place between January and June 2020.

ELZEL is a historic company, with more than 60 years of activity in Czech Republic and Slovakia: before becoming private, in fact, it was the state company for the electrification of the railway infrastructure network. It is therefore a high-standing partner for Tesmec Group, a new step in its internationalization strategy of the order portfolio and the first step in Eastern Europe, in which the Group aims to grow further.

Tesmec Group is active in the design and manufacturing of rail equipment and special vehicles for line operations, specialized in the production of advanced systems for the electrification and maintenance of railway networks. The Group has patents for the management of railway vehicles and for devices related to catenary maintenance. Thanks to its unique technologies, the Group has thus gained significant international recognition as a supplier of highly innovative equipment and services. The contract with ELZEL confirms, therefore, the great design and development capacity of the Group which, after the important experiences in the USA, Norway and China, operates now also in Italy with RFI - Rete Ferroviaria Italiana SpA, the company of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group, and in France with the supply of the mechanized jobsite TSO for SNCF, the company in charge of the French national railway network management.
