Banca Ifis: the Board of Directors appoints Simona Arduini as Vice Chair

Mestre (Venice), 13 July - The Board of Directors of Banca Ifis S.p.A., which met today under the chairmanship of Ernesto Fürstenberg Fassio, unanimously approved the appointment of Professor Simona Arduini as Vice Chair.

Simona Arduini will support the bank, amongst other matters, in the pursuit of projects in the area of sustainability in all its forms.

Prof. Arduini will retain her role as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee until her term expires and will also join the Sustainability Committee.

It has also been confirmed that Prof. Arduini meets the independence requirements.

"Human and professional depth, competence, independence of judgement, fairness and transparency: these are the elements underlying the appointment of Professor Arduini as Vice Chair, who turned out to be the ideal candidate for the position" - says Ernesto Fürstenberg Fassio, Chairman of Banca Ifis - "Thanks also to her in-depth knowledge of the Group and its business, gained as an independent Director of the Bank since 2019, we are confident that Simona will be able to cope well with the challenges that await her".

Professor Arduini, who has been an independent director of Banca Ifis since 2019, has also been Lead Independent Director (2019 - 2022) and Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee (from 2021 to date). She is also a tenured professor for the disciplinary scientific sector of Business Economics at the Department by the same name at the University of Roma Tre and has been a consultant to the Civil Court of Rome since 1999.

She has lengthy experience within leading Italian financial companies, having served on the board of statutory auditors of Nuova Cassa di Risparmio di Ferrara S.p.A., Officine NPL S.p.A. and Poste Vita S.p.A. She has served as a member of the supervisory committee of numerous l.c.a. and a.s. procedures involving banks and financial institutions. She currently holds, amongst others, the role of Regular Auditor of Open Fiber S.p.A. and has been appointed by Mibac to the Board of Statutory Auditors of the Special Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape Superintendence of Rome.
