ELISA STARTS SHARE REPURCHASES

Elisa's Board of Directors have decided to start the purchases of a maximum of 3,000,000 Elisa shares. Purchase can start immediately. The shares will be acquired in public trading on the Helsinki Stock Exchange. The decision is based on the authorisation that Elisa's Annual General Meeting made on 18 March 2008.The Board of Directors were authorised to decide on acquiring a maximum of 15,000,000 Elisa shares. Elisa Group holds now 7,688,629 treasury shares which are acquired to develop the company's capital structure.
