Elisa successful in the Finnish LTE spectrum auction

The auction for the LTE 2.6 GHz spectrum ended on 23 November 2009. LTE is the evolution for the third generation (3G) mobile network. Elisa won the competitive 50 GHz spectrum. The fee for the license is EUR 834,700. The license is valid until 2029. LTE enables faster than current mobile broadband connections. LTE can be utilized either in the auctioned 2.6 GHz or in the lower 1800 MHz spectrum. Elisa has spectrums that can be utilised in appropriate technology. This enables determined long term service offering to our customers. Mobile broadband speed can also be increased by upgrading the current 3G network. During past 12 months Elisa has updated its 3G network speed, which enables in average over double the speed that was available year earlier.
